| Are you interested in becoming a recipient for the Searsport District High School Alumni Association Scholarship or the Lynn Costigan (class of 1976) Scholarship? |
| A total of three $1000 scholarships are available. Criteria are outlined below. The Alumni Association Scholarships are offered (1) to a student entering a 2-year program and (1) to a student entering a 4-year program of study. However, if no acceptable candidates are reviewed for either the 2 or 4-year option, the Alumni Association reserves the right to offer both scholarships to candidates entering programs of the same length. |
| Criteria for the scholarship: |
1. Candidate must be a U.S. citizen
2. Candidate must submit an essay of a minimum of 500 words describing future goals
3. Candidate must have an 85 or above grade point average for their high school years
4. Candidate must achieve a GPA of at least 2.5 their first semester in college
5. Candidate must be a graduating senior at Searsport District High School |
| Other Considerations: |
The Scholarship Committee reads only “blind” scholarship applications, so there is no bias when doing the evaluations.
Funds will be sent to the college or university of attendance during the second semester of attendance, following receipt of GPA results from the first semester. |
